Local and remote software is basically the same for all GV video capture boards, providing a powerful, eye appealing, simple to use human interface with many excellent features, including strong video analytics. Software is compatible with Windows™ XP, Windows™ 2000 and from Version 8.3.3 onwards, GeoVision software is compatible with 32 and 64 bit Windows™ 7 and Windows™ Server 2008. As well as providing a high degree of functionality, the software provides a wide range of remote access including LAN, WAN, Internet, dial-up and access from certain popular mobile smartphones, including iPhones™, Androids™ and BlackBerry's™.
A choice of H.264, MPEG4 or Wavelet compression and 320x240, 640x240, 640x480 or 720x480 video recording resolution, storage calculator, remote file viewing, smart recording and more are provided. Audio recording and playback is available on GV-600 (1 channel) and GV-800 (4 channel) boards with the addition of the GV-Audio connector. The GV-1240 and GV-1480 have their own built-in audio channel processing board, which allows recording of one channel of audio per video channel.
New major features in V8.3 and later include:
32 analog camera support in GV DVRs through the use of two 16-channel boards in one DVR. Dual video capture boards must be of the same model (e.g. 2 x GV-816).
A Hybrid solution of up to 32 channels is also provided with one GV capture board of any size for analog cameras and the balance of up to 32 channels being IP cameras and/or video servers. There are minimum system requirements for 32 analog channel DVRs. Please consult a Sentry Representative for detailed information.
Digital Matrix. Up to 8 monitors (displays) can be supported through the use of dual monitor video cards. Up to 4 video cards may be needed. A primary monitor is configured and the desktop extended to additional monitors. Camera displays can be selected by monitor on a drag and drop basis. Any camera can be displayed on multiple monitors but not duplicated on the same monitor. Motion detected on any camera can be set to pop-up that camera on any monitor as an alert.
Direct POS Integration can be achieved without the use of a GV-Data Capture box from Windows based POS systems. A USB dongle is required. Both RS-232 (serial) and network (IP based) connections are supported. The POS system must generate TXT, INI or JNL transaction files.
Additional IP Cameras are supported from Arecont, Axis, Canon, IQEye, JVC, Panasonic, Pelco, Sony and Vivotek through the GeoVision Hybrid solution.
Additional analog PTZ cameras are supported from COP, Elmo, Eyeview, JVC, Lilin, Nanwang, StorVision and 360 Vision.
In addition, all GV boards include "Watchdog" technology. "Watchdog" is a hardware/software feature that constantly monitors system performance and will restart the system if Windows™ locks up.
