The Keri 500 Series of Access Controllers is a family of single door controllers with an available expansion board that allows an additional door to be controlled. The controllers are available in either a proprietary or Wiegand compatible protocol, with or without a burglar alarm connection port. Each controller and expansion board can be mounted in it’s own enclosure or up to four controllers with expansion boards can be mounted in a concentrator enclosure. Controller boards are connected together through RS-485 ports. Keri 500 Series Controllers are also available in our 2 door kit, which contain the key components required to install a complete 2 door system.
Specifications (controller)
Up to 128 two door controllers can be connected together to provide an enterprise class access control network of up to 256 doors at a single site and thousands of doors spread over a number of remote sites, connected by Internet. The unique architecture and latest multiprocessor, RISC-based design techniques allow Sentry to offer the system hardware at a highly competitive price. It also contains many features that simplify and significantly reduce the cost of the installation. The system is configured and managed by easy-to-use software that is included with each controller and runs on virtually any Windows™ PC.
Specifications (software)
One Keri 500 Series controller contains all the input/output functionality necessary to manage a single door through connections for lock relay operation, door sensor operation, request-to-exit button, and an alarm output. Two reader inputs are provided per controller with expansion board. Each controller has an RS-485 port for connection to other Keri 500 Series Controllers (up to 128 per network) and an RS-232 serial port for connection to a PC (for software upload/download/monitoring). The Keri 500's two reader inputs are configured for either Keri proximity readers or any Wiegand-compatible device (Keri 500P for Keri readers and the 500W for Wiegand-compatible readers). The Keri 510 controllers have an additional serial port to provide integration with the GE/NetworX (Caddx) NX-8E burglar alarm panel so that users can disarm and arm the alarm system using the access system's readers.
The Keri CO-593 satellite expansion board plugs into any 500 Series controller to provide control of an additional door, at a cost far less than that of adding another controller. The CO-593 gives each 500 Series controller an additional 8 general purpose inputs and 4 general purpose outputs. Two of the inputs and outputs can be configured to manage a second door making the 500 Series a cost effective two door controller while still providing an additional 6 inputs and 2 outputs.
- Sophisticated hardware platform designed to reduce the total installed cost of access control
- A single door system can be expanded up to 256 doors in single door increments, providing the lowest cost for the current configuration.
- Proven, easy-to-use software for set-up, management and monitoring is included free of charge
- Keri 500 Series controllers in remote buildings can be configured into one system via the Internet
- Self-configuring hardware with no jumper settings or DIP switches
- On-board diagnostics
- Up to 65,000 user capacity
- 5 year memory retention
- 1 year free technical support, 2 year unconditional warranty on the controller

Key Features:
Proprietary format controllers: provide the highest level of security since the prox cards for associated readers are guaranteed a unique number. Only proximity readers are supported. Price is most advantageous.
Wiegand compatible controllers: allow the use of non-proximity readers such as biometric devices (eg fingerprint readers) as well as prox readers.
Use both Proprietary and Wiegand: Proprietary and Wiegand protocol controllers can be mixed in one network (although only one type of prox reader/controller would normally be used to avoid having to use two card types).
Multiple Mounting Options: Controllers can be mounted centrally or dispersed (close to the doors being controlled). In a large building, dispersing the controllers has the advantage of much shorter data and power connections between controllers and readers. Connection between controllers is by RS-485 or by using RS-485 to LAN converters and Ethernet between the converters.
On-board diagnostic: tests are built into the controller firmware with diagnostic LEDs on the controller board to assist with troubleshooting communication and power issues. In addition, a plug-in (and removable) diagnostic LCD reader is available for more comprehensive diagnostics.
Simple address selections: are by means of a push-button with visual LED display of address selection. There are no dip switches to set.
Expansion Board: By using single door controllers with expansion boards for a second door, the Keri 500 Series allows the most cost effective and flexible network configuration, in that both distant single and multiple doors can be economically connected in a dispersed controller network.
Free Software: Software is supplied free of charge with each controller. Software is easy to install and easy to use. It allows the addition and deletion of users, definition of user rights, uploading and downloading data to and from controllers and live monitoring of network activity. Keri Series 500 software will run on any Windows platform from Windows 95 upwards and on a hardware platform of Celeron 90MHz, 128MB RAM, 20GB HDD or better.
Auto Configuration: The auto-configuration feature in the software allows it to define all system components on the network.
Simple PC Connection: The PC running the Series 500 software need only be connected to the first controller in the network with a serial cable. From there, communication with other controllers on the network uses the RS485 connection between the controllers.
Alarm Panel Integration: The Keri 510 controllers allow alarm integration capability with GE Interlogix/Caddx NX-8E Alarm Panels .
8-Door Concentrator: The Keri concentrator enclosure with integrated backplane provides for up to 4 Series 500 controllers, with or without expansion boards, to be installed in one wall mounted cabinet and thus control of up to 8 doors from one enclosure.
