The 2404 is ideal for use with wood framed doors because the load is spread out by having the mounting holes 6" apart rather than 4" on the 2402. Also particularly suited for installation on an aluminum store front door where the larger faceplate is needed to giving more vertical adjustment in order to line up the center line of the latch with the strike.
