Live Demonstrations

Video Resolution: Camera images can be displayed and recorded in a choice of full D1 (704x480), DCIF (528x320) or CIF (352x240). Different camera images can have different resolutions although any that are to be run at full D1 resolution at full 30fps recording speed must be defined on installation.

Email Functions: The software can be set to send an email with snapshot on alarm (motion detected). Alarm signal inputs for up to 16 devices and outputs for up to 8 devices can be connected using the R-I/O box.

Alarm Functions: Multiple alarm devices can be linked to any number of cameras (from 1 to all) and multiple cameras can be linked to any number of alarm devices (from 1 to all). In addition, alarm inputs can be associated with PTZ camera presets and alarms can be set to play a sound file for an audible warning. Alarms can be set in groups and configured into an activation schedule.

Digital Map Functions: A digital map of the surveilled area can be imported and the positions of all cameras and alarm devices shown on the map with icons. On alarm (or motion detection) the map will automatically pop-up with the triggered alarm device and/or camera flashing. By double-clicking a flashing camera icon, the video from that camera is displayed on screen.

Video Exporting: Video clips can be selected and exported to a folder, then burned to a CD along with the supplied player. The exported video on the CD can be played in any Windows PC right from the CD, without the need to install either the video or any software on the playing PC.

Differing Recording and Remote Transmission Quality and Frame Size: Remotely transmitted live video can have a different resolution and compression to recorded video, allowing maximum quality recordings (low compression, high resolution) and lower resolution, higher compression transmitted frames, for maximum remote video speed.

Recording Playback: The log files of recorded video clips can be sorted and accessed by year/date/time. Video recordings can be played back while current recording is taking place. Recordings can be played back at normal speeds, higher speeds, slower speeds or frame by frame. Because of the nature of hardware compression and decompression, recordings can be played back by individual camera or with a maximum 8 security cameras at a time. In multi-camera playback mode, any camera can be chosen for playback in any window and all playbacks can be “time aligned”. Switching from multi-camera to single-camera playback is as simple as clicking on a particular camera window while playback is operational. Video clips can be selected and exported. Individual frames can be captured from live video or on video playback.

System Log: The System Log is a database of major operational changes. It allows searching by “Motion and Alarm Events”, “General System Events”, “User Login/Logout history”. Events can be double clicked to play the associated video.

Recording Speeds (DVRs): By using H.264 hardware compression, recording speeds can always be a constant 30fps per camera. Speed can be individually camera configured to be slower than 30fps.

Video Compression: All Sentry RP-Lite Series systems use H.264 (MPEG4 Part 10) hardware compression/decompression, thus relieving the system CPU of these most intensive tasks. H.264 provides superior video compression and gives better quality recordings with smaller frame sizes than other compression methods. Recorded frame sizes can be as low as 0.5KB.

Title, Date and Time On Screen Display: The individual camera title plus date and time can be set in a range of colors and locations on each camera window, for display and recording. Display color changes from light to dark and back again, to provide a contrast with the video background color.

Individual Camera Adjustment: Brightness, contrast, hue and saturation are all adjustable for each individual camera.

PTZ Camera Support: Various models of PTZ cameras can be controlled through the software, both locally and remotely, using an RS-485 add-on adapter. Several control protocols are supported.

Multiple Display Options(DVRs): Live video can be displayed in single camera or various multi-camera modes. Multi-camera display can be immediately switched to single camera by a mouse double-click on the desired camera image (and back again by mouse double-click). In addition, the display can be switched from GUI mode to Full Screen (and back again) by a single right button mouse click.

Live Display and Recording(DVRs): Concurrent recording of live video and playback of recorded video is supported.

Recording Choices(DVRs): Recording is selectable by camera as continuous, “on alarm” or "on motion". Motion detection is performed by the software and sensitivity can be set. A schedule of recording can be set by camera, by type of recording and by time and date.

Mask Function(DVRs): Areas for "motion recognition" can be masked per camera image. Multiple mask areas per image are allowed.

Recording Frame Size and Quality(DVRs): Video recording can be set to a Constant Bit Rate or a Variable Bit Rate. A Variable Bit Rate will vary the compressed frame sizes to give a constant image quality and speed. A Constant Bit Rate can be set from a given range of MB/Hour and will result in varying image quality.

Pre- and Post-Alarm Recording(DVRs): Both Pre- and Post-alarm recording times can be set from 3 to 12 seconds.

Digital Map Functions: A digital map of the surveilled area can be imported and the positions of all cameras and alarm devices shown on the map with icons. On alarm ( or motion detection) the map will automatically pop-up with the triggered alarm device and/or camera flashing. By double-clicking a flashing camera icon, the video from that camera is displayed on screen.

Audio Recording: One audio channel per video channel can be recorded with all Sentry RP-Lite Series security systems. Recorded audio can be played back in total synch with single camera video playback.

Remote Video Resolution and Quality(DVRs): The resolution and quality of remotely communicated video can be specified independent of locally recorded video quality and resolution. The higher the quality and resolution the lower the transfer speed and vice versa.

Remote System Recording/Accessing: Remote PCs can record locally with client software and host (server) recordings can be accessed remotely by the client software. Groups of cameras from different RP-Lite Series DVRs can be defined in the client software for watching separately or together.

User Passwords: Passwords can be used to provide a wide range of user permissions ranging from the ability to view just a few cameras to the ability to be able to perform all functions. In addition, the server can be locked so that nothing can be changed. Client software uses a different set of passwords to the Servers, to avoid contention between the two.
