Sentry SE Embedded Digital Video Recorder Features

High Video Quality/Fast Remote Transmission: The SE Series uses dual video stream compression technologyto allow local video to be compressed for recording by MJPEG compression while video to be transmitted remotely uses MPEG4 compression. This dual compression method provides very high quality local video recordings with faster remote transmission. Video is recorded at Half D1 resolution on 4 and 8 port models, and either Half D1 or CIF resolution (selectable) on 16 port models. All models offer three levels of video quality adjustment (Low, Normal and High).

Powerful Remote Control: Using a standard Internet browser or the supplied remote client software, users can perform any local operations from a remotely connected PC, including changes to settings, video search and playback, etc... Both Static and Dynamic IP addresses are supported for ease of connecting to the Internet.

Video Display/Recording Speeds: Live video on all cameras is always realtime – 30 frames per second (fps) per camera. Recording speeds vary by model, from a total 60fps on 4 and 8 port models to a total of 120fps on 16 port models. Recording frame rate is adjustable by camera allowing certain (more critical) cameras to be configured with higher recording frame rates while others (less critical) can be reduced.

Multiple Display: Both a standard VGA and composite (BNC) video output are provided to connect a local monitor. Both video outputs may be used at the same time offering an excellent solution and no extra cost when a second display monitor is required. VGA connectivity provides optimum video display quality for the lowest cost.

Easy-To-Use: Easy to operate using the supplied mouse and/ or push button controls on the front of the DVR or using the optional IR remote control. A major feature of the SE Series DVRs is how easy they are to use.

Video Backup: Exporting the video as 'evidence' is simple and easy. Video is easily backed up to a USB thumbdrive connected to the front USB port or via LAN/Internet using the supplied remote client software.

Multiple Recording Methods: Video can be recorded automatically, manually, on motion, on alarm or by schedule.

Motion Detection: Multiple areas (16x16) within each camera field of view can be specified for motion detection (or the whole field of view can be used).

Recording Playback: Recording log files can be searched by date and time or event. Recordings can be played back in various camera displays (1, 4, 9 or 16). Playback can be sped up to 8X or slowed down to 1/8 speed.

Security and Stability:Password protection is provided and when enabled, users must enter a password to access/change any functions (settings, playback, etc..) on the DVR.

Audio Recording: One channel audio recording on 4 and 8 port models is provided and two channels on 16 port models. Audio can be heard live locally and played back along with associated video both locally and remotely. *Note: Because of the legalities involved, it is advisable to check with the local authorities before undertaking audio recordings.

PTZ Camera Support: Various models of PTZ cameras can be controlled both locally and remotely (using supplied remote client software). The commonly used Pelco D and P protocols are supported.
