Based on a H.264 hardware compressed platform, the Sentry R Series consists of two different types of systems – PC-based DVRs and Video Servers.

H.264 hardware compression provides real-time recording speed, amazing video quality with resolution up to 704 x 480 and remarkably small file sizes on all R Series DVR systems, allowing remote users to view high quality live and recorded video at fast speeds. In addition, audio recording is available on all channels with complete synchronization with video. Video and audio from R Series systems can be received and recorded in the same remote Client PC, allowing the most suitable and cost effective R Series system to be installed at any particular location, yet with all sites able to be monitored centrally on one remote PC. The two types of R Series systems, supporting from 4 to 40 cameras are:

• RP Series PC-based DVRs, provide a real-time display/record audio and video system with up to 64 cameras without the excessive load on the system hardware typical of high resolution, high number of cameras, software compressed systems.
  
• The RVS Video Server is an IP device that allows up to 4 regular CCTV cameras and 4 audio inputs to be connected, H.264 hardware compressed, and output via an RJ11 ethernet port. Video from up to 4 RVS video servers can be brought into an RP Series DVR for local display and recording. This can be especially helpful when all camera ports are in use on a Sentry RP Series DVR but more cameras are required or when cameras need to be located a long distance from the DVR.
